who would rather see Aamir Khan portray murdered Indian journalist J. Dey in the biopic Mid Dey

In a recent poll on the website Bollywood Life, fans voted 58% to 42% that they would rather see Aamir Khan portray murdered Indian journalist J. Dey in the biopic Mid Dey than continue his focus on arduous prep work for his other upcoming project as a wrestler in the film Dangal. What excites fans to have Aamir focus on Mid Dey instead, is the fact that it looks as if British actress, Emma Watson, is all but signed to do the film as well.

However, more down-to-earth reasons might jostle production schedules and put Mid Dey in front. It has been suggested that Mid Dey filmmaker, Nandita Singgha, needs less than a month of Khan on set to shoot. Dangal will require a much more involved, and longer, shooting schedule. It has been thought that Khan might like to wrap up Mid Dey first, so as to have more than one film released next year.

Putting aside the nuts and bolts of production, Mid Dey has an abundance of things going for it that could make it a far bigger hit, even though Dangal appears closer to Aamir's heart. For one thing, the addition of Emma Watson gives it a bigger international appeal. Sure, Aamir is a huge star in his own right but he is not a Hollywood name. Having done the Harry Potter series, Watson has the name recognition in the western hemisphere that Aamir doesn't necessarily possess.
The other thing Mid Dey may have in its favor is the potential to be a great movie. J. Dey, a crime reporter who had extensive knowledge of the Mumbai underworld, was assassinated by gunmen, it is believed, because of two different corruption investigations. Aamir recognizes this is a prime role. This from Ary News, "A source close to Khan said: 'Aamir is thinking to postpone his shoot for Dangal since he wants to accommodate dates for Mid Dey after seeing the energy, clarity, and international cinema vision of Nandit Singha. Mid Dey...connects mainly with every segment of an Indian and international audience. By doing Mid Dey, Aamir will become the voice of Indian journalists in international cinema."
